Privacy Policy — தமிழ் கற்போம் (Tamil Tutor)

தமிழ் கற்போம் (Tamil Tutor) is a Tamil language learning app for primary school children. This policy explains what happens to your data when you use the app.

Short version

This app does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data, from children or adults. It works entirely offline, on your device.

What the app does not do

• No account or sign-up is required or offered.
• No personal information (name, email, location, contacts, photos, etc.) is requested or collected.
• No advertising is shown, and no advertising SDKs are included.
• No third-party analytics or tracking SDKs are included.
• No data is sent to any server. The app makes no network requests after installation — all learning content is bundled into the app itself.

What is stored, and where

The app keeps track of your progress — stars earned, letters/words marked as learned, and quiz results — entirely on your own device, using standard on-device local storage. This information:

• Never leaves your device.
• Is not visible to us, or to anyone else.
• Is deleted automatically if you uninstall the app or clear its app data.

Read-aloud audio

The app reads Tamil text aloud in one of two ways, both of which happen entirely on your device:

• For most words and phrases, it plays a short Tamil audio clip that is bundled inside the app itself. These clips were generated once, during development, using a text-to-speech service, and are shipped as static audio files — no audio is generated, requested, or fetched while you're using the app.
• For any text that doesn't yet have a bundled clip, it falls back to your device's built-in, on-device text-to-speech engine (or, on the web version, your browser's built-in speech feature).

Either way, no audio or text is ever sent anywhere while you use the app — the bundled clips are static files packaged with the app, and the text-to-speech engine runs locally on your device.

Children's privacy

This app is designed to be used by children and complies with the children's privacy requirements of both the Google Play Families Policy and Apple's App Store Review Guideline 1.3 (Kids Category): it collects no personal information from any user, contains no ads, and contains no third-party tracking of any kind.

Permissions

Neither the Android nor the iOS version of the app requests access to your camera, microphone, contacts, location, storage, or any other sensitive device permission.

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes (for example, if a future version of the app adds a new feature that involves data), this page will be updated and the "Last updated" date above will change accordingly.
